I think they could've done more with the "EMS" thing during Chuck's time back at HHM, and handled it more clearly/consistently. The "EMS" thing was a good narrative device, but the last few ep's (from his going back to HHM onwards) they were kinda inconsistent with it, and it got confusing Was he denying and surpressing the (percieved) "EMS" at HHM? Or did he genuinely recover? Because he freaked out when he picked up the desklamp with Howard, but then he seemed unaffected after that. Like some elaborate thing to directly implicate/guilt-trip Jimmy or something.Īlso I thought the "return of Chuck's EMS" was done wierdly- like, yeah, it makes sense for the "EMS" to return after the HHM thing and the talk with Jimmy, but he's supposed to be crazed to the point of trashing his house, but he's making multiple 'phone calls with barely a flinch? Didn't really make sense, imo. You'd think someone like Chuck could plan a more pain-free, less unpredictable suicide. When was that?
